ENGLISH COTTAGE OPENS ITS OXFORD MAIN STREET DOORS

English Cottage officially opened its doors at 700 Main Street during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 12.

“We are excited to have this addition to Main Street and Oxford in general,” said Historic Main Street Oxford director Hunter Gentry.

English Cottage is a specialty boutique and gift shop known for packaging and floral designs. It also offers interior and exterior design services.

Having already operated a location in Ashland for several years, brothers Jeff and Jody Long said adding an Oxford location was their answer to “something telling us to do more.”

“We are very pro-active in the community, we love the Main Street Oxford program, and we love Oxford,” Jeff said. “We are glad to be here.”

Regina Long, the family matriarch, said when the original location was opened, “We made God the center of everything we do.”

“We want to keep it that way here,” she said.

“You have done a great job here, and Oxford is ready to help you in any way have a successful business,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “Thank you for coming to Oxford.”

The shop is open weekdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and closed on Sundays. They can be contacted by phone at 256-770-4581.
