Madi Lou’s Boutique has now been added to the growing list of entrepreneurs choosing Historic Main Street Oxford as a place to do business.
The shop celebrated its official ribbon cutting on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at 429 Main Street.
“We are always happy to have a new business in downtown Oxford,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “We’re blessed to have you and hope you do very well. If there is anything we can do to help, please reach out to us.”
Owner Christy Fleming originally started the business in 2009 when her daughter was three and began making bows and children’s clothes as a hobby.
As the business began to grow, Fleming added new products and is now a women’s boutique serving women and young girls of all ages.
Madi Lou’s Boutique offers traditional boutique items as well as a trucker hat bar and permanent jewelry. The business also books parties and pop-up events,
Also being the mother of two boys, Fleming said plans are in the works to add items for boys and men.
“We have a great new neighbor,” said council member and owner of Hubbard’s on Main Charlotte Hubbard. “I’m glad you have taken this venue, and I know it’s going to be a really hot spot, “I’ve already heard a lot of people talking about it.”
“The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce is always thrilled to support our new local businesses,” said Chamber director of membership and investor relations Kim Boyd. “We know this is going to be a great addition to Oxford’s downtown business landscape.”
Fleming thanked everyone for coming to the ribbon cutting.
“Moving into downtown Oxford has been great for us,” Fleming said. “We have felt the support from everybody.”
