COFFEE WITH A COP DRAWS A CROWD TO MEET OPD CHIEF, OFFICERS

The Oxford Police Department hosted another of its series of “Coffee with A Cop,” on Friday, March 28, 2025. This edition was co-hosted by the Calhoun County Area Chamber of Commerce and was held at Les Coin des Artistes on Choccolocco Street.
Les Coin de Artistes worked to offer a delicious breakfast brunch, the Chamber made the morning enjoyable with door prizes, and the OPD was prepared with special badges for both the young and the young at heart.
OPD Chief Bill Partridge was joined by several of the department’s staff and officers as they greeted a full house of citizens who attended as much to thank those who work to keep them safe on a daily basis as much as any other reason.
“I appreciate the Chamber’s willingness to partner with us,” Partridge told those attending, later adding the largest crowd ever to attend one of these events may be good reason to provide the public that same opportunity on a quarterly basis.
Coffee With A Cop has become successful nationwide as it allows for more informal interaction with citizens in an atmosphere that increases trust in police officers, aids in building partnerships, and engages community problem-solving.
This is another of the many ways the Oxford Police Department works to be proactive in crime prevention and public service.
