Historic Main Street Oxford welcomed a group of volunteers on Saturday, March 29, 2025, to the first Downtown Litter Clean-Up Day of 2025.

The event was the first of six designated days that will bring together residents who care about their community and want to help keep it clean for those who live, visit, and work in downtown Oxford.

During each two-hour session, volunteers are provided with all necessary safety equipment and tools to help with the clean-up efforts.

The most recent day focused on providing the downtown planters with new plants to enhance the color of the downtown area.

The upcoming clean-up Saturdays are scheduled for April 19, May 17, June 28, August 23, and September 20. Volunteers meet at Simmons Park and work between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The city of Oxford appreciates the pride our citizens continuously show as they add to making their community Alabama at its best!
